Product Description In China Maitreya is known as "the laughing Buddha" and is usually represented as a rotund figure with a happy disposition. His Chinese name is Pu-tai Ho-shang or "Hemp-bag monk". He is originally a fertility figure who was known to bring "goodies" in his bag to local townsfolk, especially children. Later, he became a pre-incarnation of Maitreya. In Japan he is called Hotei and is one of the seven lucky gods.
Customer Reviews: It was not the size I thought.March 16, 2010 michelle alexander(ALBANY, OREGON, US) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
When I ordered this product, it was a present for my husband. When we received the shipment, I realized it was smaller than I thought originally. All the pieces have a loop on them for a necklace.I would not have purchased these items if I had known this. I am not happy and my husband's surprise was ruined.
This is the second time I had to order these items. The first time was from another website and was never delivered. I was excited when I found these items on your website. I will still order from your website, but I have learned to be careful about the size.
